Kevin D. Roy, 39, of Princeton went to be with the Lord, Friday evening, August 23, 2019.  Born April 1,1980 in Charleston, he was the son of Jill Byrnside Roy and Dr. Douglas H. Roy both Princeton.  Kevin graduated from Princeton Senior High School in 1998 and received his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University in 2002. While attending WVU, Kevin was a member of the Ski Team.  He worked as a State Farm Insurance Agent in Bluefield.  Kevin loved the outdoors, especially water and snow skiing, surfing, wake boarding, golfing and motorcross.  Kevin will be remembered for his big heart, and smile.  He was always willing to help someone and loved his sons more than anything in this world.  Kevin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Fred and Mary Byrnside.  Those left to cherish his memory, his father Doug (Meredith); Mother Jill; Two sons: Ryder and Renner Roy and their mother Amy Alvis; Sister, Kristin Roy Dillow (Nelson) and his nephew, Shepherd Douglas Dillow; Grandparents Jack and Linda Roy.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Pastor Jim Simmons officiating.  Friends may visit with the family Wednesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton.  Those wishing to attend the graveside service on Thursday are requested to meet at the Memorial Funeral Directory by 10:45 A.M.
